Being a part of the Walker County Beekeepers Association (WCBA) is about fostering an engaged and knowledgeable community of beekeepers. Your contribution directly supports our mission to educate the public on bee safety, assist with bee welfare issues, and provide practical training for local keepers.
Whether you are a beginner or have years of experience, your contribution offers exclusive access to tools, knowledge, and a network of passionate mentors:
Discounted Bees: If available, the ability to purchase bees through the club at a greatly reduced price compared to other suppliers.
Equipment & Merchandise: Full use of the Club’s equipment and the opportunity to purchase club-acquired merchandise.
Expert Mentorship: Access to multiple members and mentors with years of beekeeping experience to guide you.
Bee Rescue Team: The opportunity to join the Bee Rescue Team to help relocate bees and potentially add them to your own apiary.
Swarm Chasers: Membership in our Swarm Chasers Team to receive notifications about local swarms.
Monthly Education: Access to monthly meetings featuring guest speakers, educational programs, and open forums for all your questions.
We offer one simple contribution level for all our members:

Covers one individual or an entire family.
Your dues stay within the community to fund vital programs:
Public Education: Comprehensive education on beekeeping and safety for the Walker County community.
Practical Training: Workshops covering hive handling, nutrition, pest management, and honey extraction.
Community Events: Annual events like the “Introduction to Beekeeping” class and our year-end celebration.
Meetings are typically held at the Katy and E Don Walker Education Center (1402 19th St., Huntsville, TX). We invite anyone with an interest in honeybees to drop by and attend.
