The Walker County Beekeepers Association, a.k.a. the Bee Club meets on the last Thursday of each month at the Walker Education Center at 1402 19th Street, Huntsville, Texas 77340 (between the duck pond and gazebo on 19th Street). Newbies (or newbees?) are invited to meet on the front porch at 6:30 P.M. with any questions you may have. Our club president, Bill Nowlin, and from time to time other experienced beekeepers, will be available to field your questions. Everyone is asked to sign in before the general meeting, which starts promptly at 7 P.M. Generally we’re done between 8:00 and 8:30 PM. Some choose to hang out and talk bees until they kick us out, and that’s fine.
Meetings are informative with guest speakers from all over, including our own backyard. There’s always an opportunity to ask questions and meet other bee keepers. You are encouraged to invite your friends.
Our next scheduled meeting will be Thursday, July 27. Our guest speaker will be Alexandria Payne, from Texas Invasive Species/SHSU to talk about identify bee anatomy. We hope to see you there!
